While Eli played at the park at Alum Creek Below Dam Area - I managed a quick little photo shoot! Such a stinking gorgeous clear day! And chilly - which is just how I like my October days!
I don't remember play parks being this cool when I was a kid. That's a huge rope climbing thing - man to be 3 again! (oh wait, no thanks!)
ANYHOW - back to the task at hand! A finished twin sized quilt!
This is a custom order and the only request was to work in a specific shade of light blue-grey that is the color of her sons bedroom walls... so I grab my beloved Kona Color Card (although I should probably upgrade to the newest card that includes 28 new colors...) and ordered that exact blue, and then raided my fabric cabinet for coordinating prints that were masculine, fun, and modern. I think the navy blue frogs by Alexander Henry are my favorite!
This quilt is a twin size and measures about 66" x 88"
I used 192 6" charm squares that I cut from my stash - more on that here.
I did a scrappy binding, as that's my favorite things about a quilt!
See Eli running down the ramp in the background? He was a gem while I folded and re-folded and laid out and spread out this quilt for pictures. What 2.5 year old wouldn't be at a park like this?!
A minimal amount of straight-line quilting was just the ticket for the quilt as I wanted to keep it soft and cozy, not too stiff -but still hold everything together. It's currently on its way to Toronto, Canada and I hope the little recipient loves it!
