I've only been meaning to post this crocheted blankie in my Etsy shop for a month. Its finally there! And Eli makes a fantastic baby model!

Spiderweb block for Heather!

Thanks to Heather (of a la mode fabric) I got to try my hand at this totally fun and addictive spiderweb block! Heather has a simple tutorial that makes it easy as pie to understand. It LOOKS intimidating, but I promise its not hard! Heather, this block is going out in the mail to you tomorrow! And I looooove these fabrics you chose to boot!

Taking a 2 month old on a boating/skiing vacation isn't easy, but we managed. And as you can see, my world still revolved around Eli, not so much the boating/skiing part. It was a huge change for us compared to last year, but we still had a fun time!
We did opt to keep using cloth diapers while on vacation which was nothing new to us, but some of the family had to get used to it - but they did great! Although Aunt Lisa did try to wipe his booty with toilet paper, which was funny!

...is ADDICTING! Penny over at Sew Take A Hike created a great 4-part tutorial so you too can try this uber-cool method! I've made 2 and 1/2 blocks so far and love it! I'm making 10" unfinished blocks which are slightly smaller than Penny's tutorial. Digging thru the scrap pile is somehow relaxing to me, and I can recall what each scrap is from, ahh memory lane!


Both of these blocks are quilted with 1/2" lines, but I think I'll go a bit wider for the remaining blocks... to make it go faster. I also don't snip the thread at the end of each line... I turn 90 degrees, make three stitches, turn 90 degrees, then stitch the next line until the entire piece of fabric is tacked down. I guess the tutorial doesn't specify, but I like doing it this way.

I was going to make a 3 block by 3 block baby quilt, but I may just go bigger! Time will tell... I have an entire list of sewing projects I'd like to get done, but maybe the list can wait! Now, go check it out for your self! There's also a Quilt-as-you-go Flickr Pool!
