The Nursery: birdies, Eli & Hazel oh my!

Spool Birdie Mobile sewn by me, installed by husband and sister while I was still in the hospital after Eli was born. The one project I couldn't finish in time... but it still got done!!! Vinyl wall decal by Simple Shapes on Etsy. It doesn't match everything in the nursery but it goes - know what I mean? Like wearing green sandals with a yellow sundress... woops, I digress.

Eli is enjoying his quilt AND his crib... as he sleeps in it every night. Some nights for eight hours!!! I credit the velcro Swaddle Me burrito wrap.
Action shot: Eli sleeping (and not on his quilt for safety sake)

One of my favorite parts of the nursery....This owl print is by yumi yumi on Etsy (yes I try to buy on Etsy whenever possible!) Eli loves to look up at it when I'm changing his diaper. And speaking of diapers I want to share my cloth diapering experience so far, and let me tell you, we LOVE the cloth diapers! More on that soon, I've decided.

The rocking chair is a family heirloom from my mom. The curtains are from Target but I added the fabric at the top to tie it in to the bedding, I really like how they turned out! Sorry this is such a dark photo - it was sunny this day and made it difficult to photograph the window.
I also LOVE Scottie the Dog, his home is on the rocking chair, at least until Eli is big enough to play with him! This wall faces the window... just the basics. Books, receiving blankets, lighting, and the time.

Eli stretching out on the floor... and Hazel!

Do you think Hazel has warmed up to baby Eli? I think so :-)

The nursery looks great! The last picture with the dog seriously made me laugh! Is there anything cuter than a little baby in a cloth diaper?!

So much wonderful cuteness! I would love to hear more about the cloth diaper thing.

You've made beautiful nursery for Eli1 Love the birds everywhere but especially love the last photo with Hazel who looks like she's grinning!

Hazel found a new best friend for sure :)

Jackson slept in the same kind of swaddle blanket, the photo looks oh so familiar! He did eventually start to get out of it and would get upset, what worked best for us is the miracle blanket, just google it, we loved it! Although little warning, eventually they do grow out of their swaddle blanket and we had to sort of break the habit, which was kind of hard. He does love to be snuggled and hugged a lot though, and that's so worth it!

I love your nursery! Wish I had been sewing and quilting when I had my babes. Would you believe I have had a basket of those birds for 1 1/2 yeas waiting to be a mobile. Is it ok with you if I try the tree branch finish? I have acres of trees behind my house! I really love that burrito swaddler. I used cloth diapers 20 yrs ago and everyone thought I was nuts. I wouldn't do it any other way, good for you!! ps Eli is adorable, and sister Hazel too.

Love the nursery! (quite jealous of it really.)

Curious to hear about cloth diapering, it was a no go with our poop eating dogs.

That is the coolest hippest nursery! I love everything! Totally digging the curtains, what a great idea.

And could Eli be ANY cuter? No, I don't think so.

So great that he's sleeping (so much!) in his crib! We failed big time at that and neither kid slept there until 6 months.

Everything looks darling! Eli is so cute and seems like such a doll. Congratulations!
And after adoring Hazel for so long, I must ask where you got her! I'm not "allowed" to get a small dog, but she's just to die for!

Or she has warmed up to the quilt and is suffering the presence of someone to share the space, hahah! No, she looks pretty comfortable next to Eli.

Look forward to your piece about cloth diapers and love the look of the nursery!

Cheers,
Christine

YES! Everything they said! Really gorgeous nursery....now for a word of warning. :) I had my grams beautiful cross stitch(she made one for each boy) above the changing table and (I did this twice, for both boys thinking it couldn't happen again) THEY PEED all over them. Yuck! So I'm hoping the owls make it. hehehe Of course this is when they were older than Eli. Hugs and again I love everything about your style.
