Here are my two blocks for Amber of One Shabby Chick. She wanted Denyse Schmidt-esque blocks, which I've never attempted before, but I really like how they turned out! For the {Bee}autiful VQB.

If you are making a lot of hexagons to sew togher (not just flowers) I would suggest joining your hexagons with a lagger stitch, it makes the seams lay flater, and doesnt make them look scrunchy..
I figured this out after i made my second hexagon doll quilt. have fun sewing :)

I really like your blocks! Is that a shot cotton in the blue one?
Britt - yes, I believe it is shot cotton... I've never worked with it before, but I think I like it! Its a bit more *fragile* than regular quilting cottons, but very pretty!
