Here are my two blocks for Amber of One Shabby Chick. She wanted Denyse Schmidt-esque blocks, which I've never attempted before, but I really like how they turned out! For the {Bee}autiful VQB. Tomorrow... my first go at HEGAXONS! (many thanks to Melanie!)
love the pinkey/orange block! If you are making a lot of hexagons to sew togher (not just flowers) I would suggest joining your hexagons with a lagger stitch, it makes the seams lay flater, and doesnt make them look scrunchy.. I figured this out after i made my second hexagon doll quilt. have fun sewing :)
Britt - yes, I believe it is shot cotton... I've never worked with it before, but I think I like it! Its a bit more *fragile* than regular quilting cottons, but very pretty!
I'm a wife, Momma to 2 year old Eli and newborn twin girls Summer and Mckenna... plus sewist, quilter, crocheter (is that a word?) and household engineer. And I wouldn't change a thing.

Gorgeous! I especially love the tiny square in the middle of the blue block. :)

Hey Cristin, I've joined Melanie's piece-along too! Can't wait to get started. Your bee blocks are lovely, by the way. :-)
Those are beautiful....I like the variety.
I see the photos and the count down.....oh how exciting :)
Smiles,
Kelly
