Friday’s Big News and a Quilt Giveaway!

(comments now closed... check back soon for the winner!)

If you guessed that we’re moving to Shri Lanka, you’re wrong!

We’re going to have a baby!!!! Exciting, eh? Well, for us it is! This will be our first rug rat, and first grand baby on both sides of our family. So, lots of Firsts which calls for my first ever GIVEAWAY!

(back of quilt)

Justin was kind enough to humor me and do a mini photo shoot of this lovely baby snuggle sized quilt. That’s right, its about 16”x18” and suitable for a plethora of uses, my favorite being a security blankie for baby. The remaining plethora: stroller blankie, doll quilt, wall hanging, place mat, loin cloth, doily, or doggie quilt. Ok, loin cloth, maybe not.

The center strip consists of some Amy Butler, Heather Bailey, and even a bit of frogs from Alexander Henry. Solid grey is Kona Cotton and binding is pieced... just the way I like it. Stippled to boot and washed/dried to crinkly perfection.

Leave me a comment and you’ve got yourself 1 chance to win this quilt! For an additional chance, Tweet this post and come back and leave another comment that you did, along with your Twitter link. Giveaway will be open until next Friday, September 18th. I’ll post the winner sometime on Saturday. (Be sure to leave a way for me to contact you, otherwise you’ll no longer be the winner.) Winner: I’ll email you to get your mailing address!

Oh, and a few fun details: Baby is due about March 30th, I still fit in most of my regular clothes, and yes, I will be creating the crib bedding and curtains for the nursery! Hello – its me we’re talking about here. I don’t just leave things like that up to Target or Babies ‘R Us ~ how does gender neutral and Modern sound? (We will find out the gender ahead of time, but I want to be able to use it for baby #2 should that happen) If you have any suggestions on fabric, leave me a link! I’m indecisive at the best of times… I’d love to see your fabric suggestions!

Hmmm, so does "gender neutral and modern" mean you are waiting to be surprised when baby arrives to find out boy or girl?!

Can't wait to see what you come up with since I am certain it will be fabulous! :)

Congratulations! Enjoy this special time!!

Have fun with the bedding. The gender neutral stuff I choose for my first pregnancy was chocolate brown and ivory. Maybe the Nest line?

Cristin! I am so excited for you! You are going to love being a mom. I am opening my store in about a week! Thanks for all your help, I couldn't have done it without you!

Congratulations to the both of you!!! Very exciting news! March is such a wonderful time to have a baby, my son was born March 18th. It was nice not having to be pregnant in the heat of the summer, and I thought the pregnancy went so fast since it was through all the big holiday months. And the nice thing is soon after the baby comes you can get outside and take walks since the weather is just starting to get nice.

Your quilt is so pretty, what a great giveaway!

Congratulations! I can't wait to see how your nursery bedding turns out! It'll be so more personal to choose your own fabrics and colour schemes instead of going to a shop and just buying something.

That little doll quilt is so cute. My daughter just made a baby quilt out of amy butler fabric in green and yellow and it is so beautiful. Another daughter is visiting in Columbus, Ohio at this very moment and she is due with her third child on April 14. Congratulations to you!

Hope you have a fabulous pregnancy. Tomorrow is my twins 4th birthday and I still remember being pregnant with them. I only wished I was sewing when I was pregnant. Good luck and what a beautiful quilt.

Great job! I love quilting! Do you do mostly machine or do you do any hand applique'?

Congratulations on your upcoming arrival! March sounds like a wonderful time of the year to have a baby.

I hadn't seen Amy Butler's fabric line before (although I had seen her patterns), but I did meet her in person a couple weeks ago!

sewfunbymonique said...

Congratulations!! You will have so much fun creating your own nursery! Post pics! I would do the Belle and/or Lotus line in gender neutrals because they are discontinued, then you will have a collectible for all your babies!! :)

Linnea said...

Congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family! You'll have tons of fun decorating the nursery...especially since you're getting a nice early start.
What about decorating in aqua and red? It's a great color combo for gender neutral and often looks pretty crisp...errr modern?!
Oh, and thanks for a chance at a fun giveaway~

Linnea said...

or...(sorry for the second post)keep that orange and gray quilt you have for sale in your shop and decorate in those colors...beautiful, modern, gender neutral...and already started :)

p.s. I love that quilt!
