Hi, my name is Cristin and I'm a stippling addict.

Its official - "Hi, my name is Cristin and I'm a stippling addict."
Thanks to my new extension table (pic in this post) for my sewing machine, stippling has become 10 times easier! So why not make a baby quilt to test it out?

I'm quite happy with how it turned out, and thanks to everyone who gave their thoughts on sashing, or no sashing. I like how the white looks! After a trip through the washer and dryer, its oh-so-crinkly, and you can't even tell if (ok WHERE) I had a few snafu's with the stippling. It really hides a multitue of sins :-)

This binding is just pieced from my scrap jar... including the green Kona cotton, Joel Dewberry, Ikea, Robert Kaufman, and 2 squares stolen from my Amy Butler charm pack. It frames the quilt in a way that white just can't! And its already listed in my Etsy shop. I had a very productive night last night!

My current WIP is another baby quilt made from the same charm pack as this quilt, but pinks & greens mostly...and will be laid out in a different manner. I'm still contemplating EXACTLY how it will look, but sewing will begin soon! Its baby season around here so I need to be prepared for all those baby showers! Can anyone give me an 'Amen'? NO joke people! What's your WIP, or what are you thinking about starting, or buying fabric for? Do tell!

I am commissioning you at this time for any future babies that I might have to make a quilt for each that is just as super delicious as this.

I am working on nothing sadly, my little machine must go to the doctor very soon. (thanks for the recommendation btw)

i am also trying to come up with baby shower gift ideas. it is also baby season around here. i fear having to make more trips to babiesrus if i don't start making more homemade gifts!

Nichole, thats EXACTLY what I'm trying to avoid: BabiesRus, Buy Buy Baby, and any other freakishly huge superstore that carries 99% of the stuff baby doesn't NEED. Anyhow - I'd recommend burp cloths for baby shower gifts too... easy to whip up, but useful for the new mom :-)

Wonderful. I love how it turned out with the white sashing just going one way. I was imaginging sashing going both ways when you were originally asking for input. Great job!

I think the white sashing works really well! I'm glad I came across your blog! I'm dying to learn to stipple. It comforts me to see from your blog that a lot of practice DOES make perfect! :)
