Stroller Quilt - Finished (plus the beach!)

I'm keeping a quilt - FINALLY! Its only about 15" square but that doesn't both me. Its mine, and if we have a daughter, its hers! My first attempt at stippling on a quilt, and I love how it turned out. 8 out of the 9 squares were actually just bonus scraps that were included in my orders by various Etsy fabric shops. They all just happened to look good together, so why not put them to good use? I think the Tweet Tweet bird cage fabric is my fav!

The backing and binding is Heather Baily's Pop Garden called Sway in Peach - I finally cut into my 3 yard stash... and added one little square to the front. I think it works well! And the stippling... excitement expressed in my last post - rock on!

Last but not least, Justin and I had a nice little trip to California last weekend! Our good friends Scott & Cami have lived out there for 5 years, in Riverside, which is about an hour East of L.A.
This photo was taken in Malibu, on one of the many beaches. Although it was a tad chilly for my taste, we enjoyed the beach, ocean, view, and conversation immensely. I've always wanted to visit California, and now that I have... I think I'm still inclined to the Midwest. Although, they do have In-N-Out Burger - which seems to have a cult following. So yummy!

And oddly enough, above mentioned friends are moving back to Michigan on Sunday. So we visited just in time. Apparently they too, are inclined to the Midwest. Cheers!

The quilt turned out beautifully - happy fabric choices! I love the bird cages. I'm thinking about starting to collect some bird fabrics for an ornithologist friend of mine and think this one is really cute. Do you remember which Etsy store it came from?

Stippling is fun, eh?
